Toolit has created services around OCR (Optical Character Recognition) technology. OCR is used to convert images of text into searchable and editable format.

One of our solution is helping our customer to find pre-defined keywords from frequently issued publications. Electronic version of publication is sent to our service. This document is then interpreted with OCR engine and keywords are compared to text in the document. Results are reported per page, and customer is also able to download converted version (searchable PDF) from a web portal.

Electronic archive to a new level

Toolit offers possibility to utilize OCR technology in document archiving. Traditionally paper documents have been scanned to images and indexed with some information that will help finding document later on from the electronic archive. Using full page OCR to the document makes it possible to store whole document’s text in the electronic archive. Possibility to do text searches to all content will bring many electronic archives to a new level.

We offer our services in scanning of existing paper and microfilm archives or with already scanned documents that only need OCR. If needed we will customize electronic archive solution for your use, and tools that you can utilize to add more content in the archive in the future.
